Vessel Performance Solutions sponsored an award for this year's Smart4Sea awards ceremony. The eight smart shipping categories who walked with a SMART4SEA Award were announced at a prestigious ceremony which took place on Tuesday 29th of January 2019 at the Yacht Club of Greece, Piraeus. The awards focus exclusively on initiatives and individuals who foster Safety Excellence & Sustainable Shipping, following a combination of open nomination and audience-vote.
VPS sponsored the award for "Connectivity" to this year’s winner Marlink, who won for being an organization that provided a significant achievement, breakthrough or contribution with respect to ship connectivity. Soren did also participate in the Smart4Sea 2019 conference held the day after at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) at the Bookcastle of the National Library of Greece. Soren's presentation was focused on vessel performance management and he advised operators on how to structure a clear vessel performance management system, including a summary of the data logging process, how to validate the logged data, the analysis results and how to use the KPIs for decision support. He also provided an overview of the systematic feedback loop needed for the different stakeholders involved in the performance management process.
